EXTRA: Resources for finding great recipes!
Farmer's markets, home gardens, and CSA shares will soon be filled with beautiful seasonal produce, but it can be daunting if you're not sure what to do with all those vegetables! To that end, we wanted to share some of our favorite cookbooks, recipe websites, and cooking resources.
Three of our favorite vegetable-centric cookbooks are Plenty by Yotam Ottolenghi; Martha Stewart's Vegetables; and The Complete Vegetarian Cookbook by America’s Test Kitchen. We also recommend Mark Bittman for simple, foolproof, and adaptable vegetable-focused recipes, and Ina Garten for great, simple, vegetable-heavy recipes.
Online, we recommend staying away from user-submitted recipe websites (which often come up first in search results) because the recipes have not been thoroughly tested. We recommend sticking to sites that test their recipes thoroughly, like The New York Times, Food Network, Food and Wine Magazine, Splendid Table, and some of the better home-cook food bloggers - two of our favorites are Smitten Kitchen and Maangchi.
